Early on Saturday, September 30th, 2017, Gabhart Family Dentistry gathered at Freeman Lake Park by the Searle Pavilion and started to walk.
Why, you ask?
We were participating in the Walk MS: Central Kentucky 2017, a walk to end multiple sclerosis. Dr. Gabhart’s has been a local healthcare sponsor for the last several years, and this year we continued the tradition.
Walk MS was founded by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as a way to help bring awareness and raise funds to find a cure for multiple sclerosis (MS). Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, unpredictable disease of the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.
Although Dr. Gabhart is concerned about your pearly whites, he also cares greatly about the community in Elizabethtown and those in our region affected by MS. Which is exactly why we are yearly sponsors.
What does being a sponsor mean? According to the Walk MS site, “Our goal with our sponsors is to build long-term partnerships that assist our organization’s efforts to maximize fundraising donations while offering businesses a platform to showcase their dedication to helping our community.”
This year, Walk MS: Central Kentucky raised well over $13,000 for a cure!
“Supporting Walk MS inspires employees, increases corporate visibility, and allows companies to have a direct impact on the communities that they work and live in,” according to the Walk MS site.
